Canyon Meadows Ranch (NE Utah)



This position covers two forest permits nearly adjacent to one another in mountainous but relatively accessible terrain. Main responsibilities are maintaining, monitoring and trouble shooting spring boxes, troughs and waterlines(2” pvc and poly), fencing and monitoring cattle and some herding. Waterlines and troughs need to be drained in the fall. Additional help is available for pasture moves. Project work on range improvements and trail clearing etc. will also be necessary. Ability and willingness to do some limited water hauling preferred but not mandatory. Position is seasonal beginning of May to end of October with potential for recurring years.



Permits are 1.5 hour drive from the ranch. Ranch housing and camper provided. Combination of commuting and camping required to reduce travel. Truck and Trailer and beef allowance provided. Salary based on experience and use of own/ranch gear. Applicant must be able to work alone and in steep terrain. The job should be looked at as more of an infrastructure maintenance job than a riding/herding job. However, many of the springs are only reasonably accessed horse back.
