Ranch hand needed on large cow/calf operation in Central Eastern Oregon:

Experienced ranch hand needed on a large Central Eastern Oregon family cow/calf ranch while cattle are on several Ochoco National Forest allotments from May to October. Job could start earlier if available. This could become a full-time position for the right person or could remain a summer job from year to year. Work will include moving cattle on horseback from one pasture to the next, riding for stray cattle, maintaining fences, caring for cattle, etc. For use on the job, we offer a 5th wheel camp trailer, wall tent, an ATV, plus any horses needed (or bring your own). A house in the off-season may be available.



Applicant needs to have experience with cattle, be highly self-disciplined, have the ability to understand maps, and good dogs are a plus. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, an insurable driving record, and pass a background check.



Salary range DOE can be negotiated depending on experience. Location is east of Prineville, Oregon.
