Description:
Family-run 500-head cow/calf ranch looking for a dependable cowboy with strong horsemanship skills. Ranch runs a string of over a dozen ranch horses and cattle work is done horseback.



Applicants must have real experience working cattle horseback and roping.



Duties include:

- Gathering, sorting, and moving cattle horseback

- Calving checks, tagging calves, and pulling calves

- Roping cattle for doctoring and branding

- Riding green ranch horses and helping train young horses

- Haying and operating equipment

- Fencing and checking water





Ranch has a 60×130 indoor arena and there are lots of opportunities to ride. Must be comfortable riding multiple horses including green horses.



Experience trimming horses is a plus.



Position runs May 1 – December 1 with 1 day off per week. We are hoping to find someone looking for a long-term opportunity. Option to work year-round for someone interested in training colts during the winter.



Furnished private house with paid utilities, board for 1-2 personal horses, and a ranch pickup are all provided. House could accommodate a small family.



Competitive pay based on experience.
