We are seeking a dependable, motivated individual to join our program in Hershey, Nebraska as a full-time colt starter/ Halter Breaker. Our operation focuses primarily on starting 2 and 3 year old horses. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their skills in a hands-on program focused on building solid, usable horses.



The vast majority of our horses are born here, raised in big pastures and see cattle every day. Because our work is done horseback, smart, dependable and athletic horses are vital to our success. Due to the diversity of our operations, horses are saddled and ridden every day of the year. They are started in team roping and used to doctor pasture cattle during the summer. So the ideal candidate would have roping experience to add to our staff.



Responsibilities may include:

-Halter breaking

-First saddling and foundational groundwork

-Riding and progressing colts through early training stages

-General horsemanship and barn responsibilities



We are looking for someone who:

-Experience with halter breaking and first saddling is preferred. We value feel, patience, and consistency over ego.

-The ideal candidate has experience pasture doctoring and an interest in team roping.

-Is confident and comfortable around young horses

-Understands basic horsemanship

-Is willing to take direction and apply feedback

-Has a strong work ethic and a positive attitude





Position Details:



Full-time



Pay based on experience



Housing may be provided for the right applicant
