POSITION: FACILITIES & BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN



STATUS: FULL TIME



WORK HOURS: AS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE POSITION





Lazy T Ranch is a family owned and operated horse and cattle ranch located within the basin of the Bighorn Mountains near Ten Sleep, Wyoming.







We are seeking an experienced professional who will be an amazing fit for our current team and who understands the value of teamwork. This individual needs to be self-directed, efficient, dependable, organized, reliable and adaptable. This position requires ability to use knowledge in multiple areas of maintenance and willingness to learn new skill sets. Our team’s priority is to keep our ranch looking beautiful and assisting in ranch operations running smoothly.

Position Summary



This position directly reports to the General Ranch Manager and the Director of Buildings & Grounds.



The Facilities & Building Maintenance Technician shall be responsible for or assist in repairs, maintenance, and upkeep for all ranch facilities on the Lazy T Ranch. She/He will ensure functionality, cleanliness, upkeep and usable condition and readiness of facilities, work areas, common areas and residences while staying within and managing their budget.



This position requires an individual who has knowledge of or experience in or willingness to learn:



Building Operations



Interior & Exterior Lighting



Hot Tubs & Saunas



Propane Storage Systems (Above & Below Ground)



Solar, Generator & Backup Power Systems



HVAC – mostly residential, some commercial



Water Wells & Septic Systems



Filtering Systems (HVAC, water filters & reverse osmosis, air purifiers and humidifiers)



Electrical



Plumbing



Basic appliance repair, installation, and maintenance



General construction repairs as needed.



Painting and staining



Routine inspections of buildings for security, pests, and repair issues



Grounds Operations



Residential Irrigation Systems



General landscape and lawn care, including maintaining flower beds and gardens



Maintenance and operation of lawn equipment



Seasonal cleaning and organization of outside areas and grounds



Seasonal opening and winterization shut down of guest and seasonal facilities.



Basic mechanical knowledge of maintaining vehicles and equipment



Operating skid-steer, backhoe and other ranch equipment



Other requirements



Diagnosing and scheduling needed specialized services



Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly manner with owners, co-workers, contractors and guests



Ability to ensure that confidential matters remain confidential



Remain open to tasks assigned by the Ranch Manager and be flexible to the needs of other ranch programs



Able to research best practices, solutions and practical approaches to parts, repairs, replacement or upgrading of properties.



Able to use computer and smartphone technology-based systems such as Outlook, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams), WhatsApp, Wi-Fi calling, and other programs/apps



Provides own phone (Verizon recommended due to coverage) and most of the tools needed to ensure success in the work being done. The ranch provides a work service truck and work area/shop.



Keep, manage and maintain a clean, organized and stocked warehouse, assigned ranch vehicle, home, and work areas.



Help provide ranch coverage through a rotating work schedule.



Assist with snow removal, feeding and moving livestock when necessary.



Represent the ranch in a professional manner in both your professional and personal life.



All other duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications



Possess and maintain a valid State of Wyoming driver’s license (or acquire in a reasonable amount of time) and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.







Salary - Salary is negotiable based on experience and includes a private residence with all ranch provided utilities including internet.



The position is a year-round full-time position and starts immediately.



Must be able to provide both personal and professional references.
