Description:
This mare is a show stopper! At 17hh and close to 1800 pounds, she is a true gentle giant and safe for all ages and experience levels. Arabella is a gorgeous 11 year old Percheron mare with a sweet personality, and she is so much fun to ride. She has mainly been ridden by my 10 year old son but has also packed my 7 year old and our 70 year old neighbor around the ranch. Arabella has had a ton of riding and training and is very nicely broke. She originally came from the Amish and will pull single or double. She is extremely easy to drive and safe enough for even a beginner to drive her, and guaranteed will not get you into a wreck. She was ridden extensively before we bought her and is easy to steer, and has an excellent stop and back up. Arabella has a very smooth trot you could sit to all day long, and will lope on the correct lead in both directions. She rides excellent both in the arena and out on trails, and is not spooked or bothered by anything. We have ridden her English, Western and bareback, and she will ride with a bridle or a halter. Arabella rides quietly on a loose rein but will easily step into a trot or lope when asked. She will go anywhere you ask her to, and even though she is big she will not take advantage of her rider. Arabella has excellent ground manners, is easy to catch, stands still to saddle and bridle, stands quietly tied and loads and hauls well. She loves to be around people and is very careful when my boys are working around her. She is very respectful and not at all pushy. Arabella has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and even if not ridden regularly she stays gentle with no need to warm up before being ridden. She will cross water without issue, is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point her at. Arabella gets along well with all other horses, will ride out alone as well as with a group and will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
