San Juan Ranch is currently breeding and showing Working Cowhorses, Cutting and Roping Horses. We work with the top trainers in the industry to show our horses.

The ranch stands CD Diamond & SJR Diamond Mist, both NRCHA Open Futurity Champions, and SJR Talkin Diamonds, The American Performance Horseman Reined Cow Horse Champion.



San Juan Ranch is home to three NRCHA Open Futurity Champions — 2018 Champion SJR Diamond Mist, 2012 Champion CD Diamond, and 2010 Champion Stylish Little Oak; 2024. The 2024 Amercian Performance Horseman Champion, SJR Talkin Diamonds. All bred by the Ranch.



2016 NRCHA Stakes Champion, SJR Diamond Rey; and PCCHA Open Futurity Champion and Open Derby Reserve Champion, Bearly Nuf Taz.



San Juan Ranch mares, Shiners Diamond Girl, is one of the first recipients of the NRCHA $500,000 Dam Award in 2022. Shiners Little Oak recipient of the NRCHA $500,000 Dam Award in 2025.



Owners, John and Brenda Stephenson, were inducted into the NRCHA Hall of Merit in 2014. We stand numerous excellent mares and have a full breeding program annually. We work with the top veterinarians in the country. The ranch also has developed and carries the UltraCruz line of performance products. We have a store onsite and also attend numerous horse events to promote our programs.

Job description:



San Juan Ranch has an immediate opening for an Equine Veterinary Technician.



· Administer medications via multiple routes, including oral (PO), intramuscular (IM), and intravenous (IV) with precision and safety.



· Assist with foaling, neonatal care, and postpartum mare management.



· Maintain detailed veterinary records, treatment logs, and herd-health documentation.



· Manage office and ranch administrative records, inventory of barn supplies, and procedure documentation.



· Experienced in stallion handling, collection support, and behavior-appropriate restraint.



· Work directly with broodmares and recipient mares, including cycling monitoring, palpation/ultrasound assistance, embryo transfer procedure, and overall reproductive care.



· Assist with sales fitting and presenting horses, maintaining grooming, conditioning, and professional show-ready appearance.



· Maintain high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity protocols, and ranch facility cleanliness.



Requirements: Equine Veterinary Technician with 2+ year experience. 2 years of college. Work experience with horses.



Accurate, punctual, team player, good communication skills and attitude. Professional to work with vets and in sale environments.
