This operation runs: 3,000–3,500 head commercial feedlot (year-round cattle) Around 3,500 acres of corn and soybeans Hay and seasonal crops Finishes both home-raised and purchased cattle They are looking for a dependable, long-term employee who wants steady work in a real production ag setting. Feedlot Responsibilities (Primary Focus) Run feed truck daily Mix and deliver feed using the Performance Beef system Operate payloader and tractors in the yard Scrape and clean pens Spray pens and maintain yard conditions Identify cattle that are off-feed or falling behind Help pull and doctor sick cattle Assist with processing cattle when needed Grease equipment and check fluids regularly Spot mechanical issues before they turn into breakdowns Feedlot work is year-round and makes up the majority of this position. Farming Responsibilities (Seasonal Support) Operate tractors during planting and harvest Assist with high-moisture corn harvest for feedlot use Help with pile packing and moving equipment Haul hay when needed (must be able to drive manual) Support general farm work as seasons change Most farm ground is within 10 miles of the operation. Cow/Calf Responsibilities (Occasional) Assist with branding (rope and drag style) Help during weaning Assist with roundups when needed This is not a daily cow/calf job, but you will help during busy times. Skills & Qualifications Required Dependable with consistent attendance Ability to work independently and follow direction Experience operating equipment in an agricultural setting Comfortable working in a commercial feedlot environment Mechanically inclined with basic equipment maintenance knowledge Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles Valid driver’s license Willingness to obtain BQA certification Willingness to obtain pesticide applicator certification Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Preferred (Plus) Prior feedlot experience Experience identifying and pulling sick cattle Semi driving experience Experience with Performance Beef software Background in crop production or seasonal farm work Basic welding or mechanical repair skills Schedule, Pay & Benefits Schedule Start time is typically 7:30 AM Winter hours generally run until 4:30–5:00 PM Summer hours generally run until 5:30–6:00 PM Harvest season may require longer days (8:00 PM or later when needed) January and February are typically the slower months Compensation $50,000–$60,000 salary depending on experience Performance review with raise potential at 1 year Benefits Sick time available after 6 months 1 week paid vacation after 1 year ½ beef after 1 year Housing provided Housing Options Two housing options are available: In-Town (Hershey) 2 bedroom / 1 bath Approximately 6 miles from the operation Country House 2 bedroom / 1 bath Located close to the farm and feedlot Apply through link or call Jess (530)788-5901 https://recruitcrm.io/apply/17713437628950075108BHk 165 visitors have viewed this ad
