He’s the kind of horse that turns heads wherever he goes, yet stays quiet and humble about it. Anyone can ride Big Chief — he has a way of making every rider look good. He’s calm, slow, and collected, with absolutely no spook. He lopes easy, picks up his leads effortlessly, and has a smooth, correct way of going. In the arena, he’s capable and stylish without ever feeling busy or demanding. Outside, Big Chief is just as impressive. He’s been ridden on trails, through rocky terrain, and while gathering cattle, confidently navigating hills, trees, and uneven ground. Wildlife doesn’t bother him, and he stays relaxed whether riding alone or in a group. Roads, traffic, and town environments are no issue — cars going by don’t faze him one bit. Big Chief has been roped on in branding pens and is started nicely out of the box. Obstacles like bridges, tires, and flags don’t concern him — he handles them quietly and willingly. He’s been hauled, paraded through town, and ridden by children, always staying calm and dependable. He handles time off well, is current on vaccinations and Coggins, and is great for the farrier and veterinarian. Big Chief is happy in a stall on rainy days and enjoys pasture turnout just as much.
