Description:
Pecos is a beautiful buttermilk buckskin. 10 year old grade gelding standing 15.2 hands tall and is the kind that’s been there, done that, and earned his keep every step of the way. He was started as a 3 year old by an older gentleman who believed in putting a solid foundation on one the right way and that foundation shows. From there, he went on to make a living in the feedlots, sale barns, and doctoring wheat pasture cattle. He’s seen long days, tough conditions, and real ranch work his entire life, and it’s made him seasoned, sensible, and dependable. He was being used as a head horse when purchased by a younger kid a few years ago. Since then, he’s continued his career as a ranch horse and has been hauled to local jackpots. Outside of the arena, he’s just as enjoyable. He loves a good trail ride and confidently crosses water, logs, and obstacles without hesitation. He’s sure footed and steady in new country, making him a horse you can relax and enjoy. Under saddle, he will collect up nicely when asked and is responsive without being over reactive. He has around 60 days of barrel training as a 6 year old, giving him additional versatility and body control. On the ground, his demeanor is top notch. He’s extremely polite, friendly, and easy to be around. The kind that meets you at the gate and stands quietly tied. He’s respectful with his space and handles daily chores like a gentleman. This is a well rounded, working gelding with the size, experience, and disposition that’s hard to find. Willing to accommodate board for up to 7 days, additional board can be discussed.
