Owned and operated by the Allen family for 54 years, our mission is to help our guests unplug from the stress of the modern lifestyle and reconnect with the natural world, their loved ones, and their true self through horseback riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, and wellness-focused activities. We operate in the Shoshone National Forest and offer guided backcountry pack trips, cabin-based excursions, themed specialty trips, and spot-pack horse packing services for guests of all interests and walks of life. Job Description: We are seeking 2-3 hardworking, detail-oriented individuals with a positive attitude, great customer service, and talent in the kitchen, to join our team of ranch cooks this season. The ranch cooks are responsible for providing three meals per day - 7am breakfast, sack lunches for any cabin-based guests, and 6pm dinner. Meals are healthy, creative, ranch-style meals, with variety and excellent presentation. The cook team oversees that all cabins and facilities are cleaned when new guests come in, and they help greet guests to ensure the ranch always feels welcoming. We are a fairly small operation with 4 guest cabins, 3 glamping tents, and 3 sheep-wagons for guest lodging. A fair amount of planning is involved in feeding the ranch guests and crew each day. The cooks plan a weekly menu and grocery list for a once-a-week grocery shopping trip. There may be between 10-35 mouths to feed on any given day, and the menu must be planned so that fresh food doesn’t spoil by the end of the week. Depending on the qualifications/skillsets of each cook, there may be opportunity to rotate going out on pack trips to cook for groups in the backcountry, spending 4-5 days camping with wranglers, guests, and horses about 15+ miles into the wilderness is stunning country. Qualifications: - Applicants must be at least 18 yrs old and have at least a high school diploma - Experience working with people (past service, hospitality, and cooking experience preferred) - Cooking experience is necessary, but creativity and enthusiasm for the job are just as important. - Ability to run a clean kitchen and delegate responsibilities to helpers - Must have a valid driver’s license - First Aid and CPR Certification - Preference will be given to applicants who can stay for our full summer season (mid-June through mid-September) - A background and passion for the outdoors is a plus Benefits: - Monthly salary - Gratuity (split amongst the crew) - Room and board included - A chance to have an incredible summer adventure spent in the mountains with amazing animals and people, sharing a common goal!
