Description:
Todd and Tucker are a dynamic duo that you sure do not run across every day! These boys are so very special! They are Spotted Draft Horse/Quarter Horse crossbreds and are full brothers. Todd is 8 years old, and Tucker is 9. They were raised by some good Amish friends of ours until we purchased them a year and a half ago. These two have extensive experience in almost everything you could imagine. From being phenomenal driving horses, to having the smoothest one-step lope, to being one of the best hands around the ranch, to even being trick horses, Todd and Tucker are truly the best team of horses we have ever owned. They are 100 percent safe, sound, skilled, and experienced horses with the sweetest, most pleasant, and willing-to-please attitude.

As Spotted Draft Horse/ Quarter Horse crossbreds, Todd and Tucker have all of the best qualities of each breed. Their size, color, build, and disposition come from the draft side of them, with their agility, intelligence, and versatility being attributed to the quarter horse in them. Todd and Tucker stand 16 hands and are built wonderfully- they have big feet and bones and are thickly made with a great conformation.

On the ground, Todd and Tucker are complete gentlemen. Our little girl who is only 8 can handle either or both of them together with ease, confidently. Even with their size, she knows she can trust them. They are respectful of your space, they stand tied patiently, stand in the wagon patiently, and with the extensive liberty work they’ve had, they will even follow you around at the command to come.

In the saddle, these boys are a dream ride. They both have a one-hand neck rein, have a super smooth one-step lope, a big stop, and will back up and turn around in a circle like a quarter horse. They take their correct leads both ways and respond to leg pressure. They are completely experienced in both indoor and outdoor arenas.

We’ve also ridden them on countless miles of trails. It doesn’t matter what type of terrain or what kind of challenge they face- they will take you where you want to go. Our entire family has enjoyed trail riding with these guys! From mud to rocks to sliding over steep hills to deep water- they’ve done it all! They are safe and sure-footed, getting you where you need to go.

Todd and Tucker are also amazing driving horses. I could not count the miles they have both driven and worked together as a team. They know their job, do it well, and look AMAZING while doing it. They are very classy and move with elegance. They sure do turn heads! They are also completely traffic-safe. We’ve driven them to town, to and through our cattle farm that’s up the road, in parades, and even used them in a live drive-thru nativity scene to give people wagon rides! From the tiniest babies to the oldest grandpas, Todd and Tucker safely gave them rides in the wagon! They are surely a trusted team!

Todd and Tucker are also trick horses. They have both been trained to lie down and sit up! They are both super intelligent animals. They will also side-pass to a mounting block or any other mounting point you choose.

These brothers have also been a huge help around the farm. We have used them to rope wild cattle, move, check, and sort cattle, and check fences almost daily. We’ve even taken them to a large-scale cattle roundup, where they helped catch, sort, and work over 300 head of cattle in a couple of days! They are also very useful for opening and closing gates, dragging items around, and moving fences or gates as needed. Our Amish friends also used them to feed hay and run equipment. We’ve seen his 3-4-year-old son drive Tucker with a roll of hay on the wagon while his father opened and closed the gate for him.

Todd and Tucker are also very familiar with the tarp, whip, and gun. They’ve seen it all many, many times and pay it no mind at all. They’re both great at loading and hauling, love a bath, and stand well for the farrier. They get along well with each other and other horses. They are super friendly to everyone they meet. Each time we take them out in a crowd, countless people come to pet them. They enjoy the love! They perform well in the stall and in the pasture. They are easy to catch and will respond every time you call. They are also great with pets and livestock, including dogs, cats, and goats that run in and around the barn with them.

Both of these horses are truly safe, gentle, and easy to get along with. They aren’t exactly the same, but with the wonderful training they’ve had, they are pretty close! Aside from minor differences in appearance, the only difference between these two is that Todd is laid back, and Tucker is extremely laid back. Tucker is slightly lazier than Todd, whereas Todd is slightly quicker to respond. Honestly, that’s the only difference. Our entire family has ridden and enjoyed both of these boys, even our little girl. She has even set up jumps and jumped them! They are such well-trained, versatile animals that are up for whatever task you ask of them! Their potential is unlimited! They could excel in the western, english or driving world! We are offering Todd and Tucker for purchase separately or as a team. There will be 2 separate auctions, one for Tucker and one for Todd. If you wish to purchase them as a team, make sure to win the bid on each auction! Please feel free to call or text us anytime! We would love to chat with you about these boys or set up a time for you to come and visit them! We can also arrange shipping anywhere in the US. Take the time to watch our full YouTube video to get a glimpse of what life is like with Todd and Tucker.
