Description:
The Diamond Cross in Birney, MT is looking to hire a seasonal ranch hand for the Hanging Woman Unit. Employment would be from the 1st of March through October 31st. We are about 1.5 Hours from Sheridan, WY and about 40 miles to the nearest paved road.



There are 210 Replacement Heifers that we are looking at AI, and around 500 Cows that will go out to grass around April 1st and will start calving April 15th. There is also a possibility that we will be getting in some yearlings for some custom grazing.



Duties will include,fencing (will be a lot in the Spring, and throughout the Summer we will be fencing at least 2-4 days a week, trying to get caught up from 2024 Fires still,) feeding, we will brand close to 1200 calves, help with haying, cattle moves, water system checks and maintenance, etc. Experience with green/young horses is a plus. This is not a strictly “Cowboy” job, but we will spend as much time as we can horseback, cattle moves are done horseback, and we heel and drag our calves during branding.



Benefits include: furnished housing, some beef, ranch vehicle for work use, and internet. Will have to do your own cooking.



4 personal horses allowed, mares are okay. 2 working dogs allowed, keep in mind that there will be days they are expected to stay home. Equipment experience is a plus but not required. Must have your own tack.
