Description:
Our family is seeking a position for a single person or couple, with room for our family. Our kids are 2 and 4. We live our faith, and deeply value community and family ties. We love living in remote places, with both the responsibility and peace it brings.



My husband and I have years of experience with livestock and farming, and are no strangers to hard work. My husband grew up raising sheep, and caring for elderly folks in his family’s business. I grew up on a cattle ranch and helped doctor, calve, care for, and move cattle using both horses and ATVs.



We currently have a few sheep and a couple horses. We manage the care for cattle on a farm in northern MN. We also assist with the market garden, high tunnels, and orchard. We utilize rotational grazing, low stress handling, regenerative methods and conservation projects.



My husband has his CDL, and can operate many types of heavy equipment, tractors, skidders, grain wagon, bulk tanks, and now also school bus. Also in his skill set are mechanics, carpentry, welding, electric and plumbing, fencing. He is a very hard worker and a dedicated family man.



I currently work for the post office as a rural mail carrier. I have experience as a gourmet chef, can cook for a crew. I will help with childcare. I have experience with Montessori and nature based learning. I am CPR certified and certified as a Master Gardener. I can care for and ride horses and sort cattle. I’m an intermediate rider and I know it’s in my bones.



We are very driven to give our kids a great life out on the land. Our ultimate goal is to find our next home, and raise livestock, berries, mushrooms, and host farm dinners. We intend to enrich and become part of the fabric of the local community. Having grown up in small towns, we know that’s no small feat, but we are determined.



We would love to find somewhere we can purchase land from our boss, or local land nearby to ease transitions. Maybe you want to be a stepping stone or incubator type. If willing to sell land: We would love to discuss a direct sale, or perhaps a long-term work agreement to basically work into ownership--maybe you want to stay in your home for a few more years but retire from the ranch?
