Meet Reno a 7-year-old grade red roan gelding standing 15 hands tall and built like a brick house with legs. He’s the kind of horse that makes you feel under horsed in everything else you own. Friendly, easy to catch, and convinced he deserves attention at all times, Reno leads, loads, ties, bathes, and stands like a gentleman for the farrier. Reno is a legit ranch horse with more miles than most pickup trucks. No job is too big or too small he’ll hold absolutely anything on the end of a rope (yes, even buffalo 🦬), and he does it without getting you in a bind. He was started as a cutter and will still get down and drag his butt if you ask. He’s worked salebarns daily, opens and shuts gates like it’s his side hustle, and genuinely loves having a job.

When the work is done, Reno switches gears into trail horse deluxe. Deep water, big logs, steep ditches that make you rethink your life choices—he crosses them all while taking care of his rider the entire way. He’s been on overnight camping trips, hauled all over, stalls great, or will stand tied at the hitching rail all day like he’s got nowhere else to be.

Reno is super broke, soft in the bridle, and has been used his entire life. He can go right back to work or hit the trails,it honestly doesn’t matter to him as long as he gets to go along. A 12-year old boy rides him almost daily and ropes on him, and Reno takes care of him like it’s his job. We’d say he’s best suited for an intermediate rider who knows how to ride a broke horse.
