“Doja”

This mare has been in our program since she was a yearling and represents our daughter’s very first complete project—prepared start to finish for the NRHA Futurity. Doja proved herself in the show pen by making the Youth Futurity Finals, earning Level 4 money at the Invitational Futurity, and just missing the NRHA Level 4 NonPro Futurity Finals by a mere half point.

Following the conclusion of the Futurity the first weekend of December, she was given a well-deserved mental break, as we do with all of our three-year-olds. Doja is now mentally fresh, rested, and ready to return to full-time training.

With a little additional finish work, Doja has the ability to put her next owner at the top of major reining events. She possesses all the maneuvers needed to be a big-time Non Pro reining horse or a competitive lower-level Open horse for the derbies. She also has the size, bone, and versatility to excel in multiple disciplines if you choose to go that direction. She is NRHA, NRBC, and NARS enrolled, eligible for the 100X program,. Doja is also double registered with AQHA and APHA, making her eligible for all Chrome Cash Incentives.

The majority of Doja’s riding to date has been in the arena, though she has also spent some time riding outside at the ranch and handled the great outdoors with confidence. She has been hauled extensively to all of the NRHA’s major events, giving her plenty of miles and exposure to a wide variety of facilities and environments.

We do want to make note that Doja does have a superficial crack on both hind hooves. She does not require special shoeing and is barefoot up front. She has been evaluated by multiple veterinarians, has not required any treatment, and has no soundness issues. As a yearling, she x-rayed clean. Pre-purchase veterinary exams are welcome.

Beyond the show pen, Doja checks every box as a future broodmare—big, strong, conformationally correct, and extremely athletic. She is also a standout visually: a gorgeous dark bay with a bold blaze, blue eyes, and stocking legs. Very flashy and eye-catching.

Doja is by the great Colonels Shining Gun, a five-million-dollar sire, and out of a proven mare who was shown extensively with an exceptional winning record (NRHA money won 41 of the 46 times shown ).

After purchase, we welcome your trainer to come ride Doja for the day so we can share insight and guidance on how to help her function to the best of her ability.
