Description:
Seasonal full-time veterinary technician position available at an equine breeding facility in Weatherford Texas, January to mid-July. Year-round employment with our medical and surgery center is a possibility for the right candidate. Tech certification not required. Job requires handling mares during palpations and assisting in veterinary procedures. Duties also include administering medications, maintaining cleanliness of our facilities and labs (no stall cleaning required), and helping oversee horses. We can offer opportunities to learn to collect stallions, and assist embryo flushing and oocyte aspirations. Trailer hauling and tractor driving skills a plus, but not required. Ideal candidate is attentive, responsible, can handle horses safely, and isn’t afraid to learn new skills. While we don’t offer housing, we do offer $400/month toward housing in town, or at the nearby RV Park (this is only for seasonal employees; if you are offered an offseason position at the medical center after breeding season, your compensation package will be renegotiated). Pets and personal horses are NOT allowed on site. This is not a riding position.
