Talent Solutions is assisting a multi-generation cow/calf ranch near Bartlett, NE in hiring one more full-time Ranch Hand. Ranch runs ~2,000 mother cows (≈1,000 owned) on ~30,000 acres; spring calving; fall calve first calf heifers; rotational grazing; backgrounding on irrigated meadows; no night calving; low-stress, quiet cattle handling. Key Responsibilities Daily cattle care: feed, pasture/water checks, spot/treat sickness. Seasonal: spring calving, branding (rope-and-drag; North Forks on smaller groups), backgrounding. Fencing, waters, corrals, property upkeep. Equipment: feed wagons, hay processors, tractors, ATVs, loaders. Cedar/brush control, yard hay, winter feeding. Communicate issues early; coordinate with ranch mechanic. Qualifications Proven cattle handling; quiet/low-stress required. Valid driver’s license; safe truck/trailer and machinery operation. Horseback experience preferred (will train up). Reliable, teachable, team player; works independently when needed. Northern Plains roots/experience preferred (NE/KS/SD/ND). Compensation & Benefits $3,000–$3,400/month to start (DOE); raises with performance/tenure. Housing & utilities included; beef provided. Health: $300/month HSA (Marketplace). Retirement: SIMPLE IRA with up to 3% match. Horses: hay & farrier for 2–3 using horses per hand (extra horses OK; you cover extra feed). Schedule Meet 7:30 AM; typical finish ~5:00–5:30 PM. Alternating Saturdays (half crew); Sundays off. Spring calving (Apr–mid-May): Mon–Sat; light Sunday chores only. Housing & Community Multiple ranch homes with horse pens and storm shelters.
