Location: Burlington, WY (Fall–Spring) & Wilson, WY (Spring–Fall)

Effective Start Date: December 2025

Pay: DOE, Housing is Provided



Snake River Ranch is seeking a skilled Ranch Hand / Working Cowboy to assist with all aspects of ranch operations for our yearling and cow–calf programs.



This is a hybrid, seasonal-location position:

Approx. Sept 15 – April 15: Burlington, Wyoming

Approx. April 16 – Sept: Wilson, Wyoming



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with cattle rotations and execution of the grazing plan.

Perform daily herd checks for health, welfare, water, and pasture conditions.

Demonstrate strong horsemanship and proficiency in low-stress stockmanship - Activities include sorting, pen work, branding, open-field riding, roping, and doctoring.

Assist with shipping/receiving cattle

Assist with irrigation as needed

Operate ranch equipment - skid steer, loader, tractors, dump truck, excavator, backhoe, telehandler, feed trucks, irrigation pivots, etc.

Maintain fencing and ranch infrastructure in good working condition.

Help with weed mitigation and spraying throughout the season as needed.

Repair and maintain pasture fences, stock water systems, and corrals.

Help with providing daily care for ranch horses

Maintain and repair tools and ranch equipment.

Assist with general upkeep, care, and maintenance of ranch facilities.

Be available and on-call for ranch emergencies.



Preferred Qualifications:

Horseback and cattle-handling skills

Experience doctoring cattle and checking health

Knowledge of fencing, feed operations, and basic mechanical skills

Ability to work long hours in all weather

Responsible, self-motivated, and able to work alone or with a team

Committed to low-stress livestock handling
