She is a daughter of Mr Sun O Freckles, going back to Doc O’Lena, and out of a daughter of Fairleas Colonel Rio by Colonel Pic—a proven, desirable blend of cow, bone, and mind. Rhonda is best suited for a breeding program. She’d thrive being turned out with a band of broodmares and live-covered. She is correct, stout, and absolutely gorgeous—one of those mares that consistently stamps her foals. I own a filly out of her, and she is extremely sweet, well-built, and correct in every way. She has had a couple of foals and has been an easy breeder, and dependable producer. As a broodmare, she’s low-maintenance and settles well into the routine of pasture life. Under saddle, Rhonda was started late. She has been saddled, ridden, and roped off, but she is very sensitive, will “grab her butt,” and does have the potential to get someone. She’s goofy about a lot of things and prefers to be left alone. She can be caught, but typically needs to be run into a pen first. For these reasons, I recommend she be a broodmare only.
