Description:
Falls Ranch is looking for a long term experienced all around ranch hand to join our team. We are located in Casper, Wyoming about 12 miles east of town. We are a cow/calf operation that runs around 1300 head with another 300 head of replacements that come in the spring. We do most cattle work horseback but we do not ride everyday as there are many other duties on the ranch that need to be attended to. Riding experience is preferred. There is roughly 2000 acres of farm land as well.

** Please do not apply if you are job hopper or only looking for a 1 year deal. We are looking for a dedicated individual that wants stick around for awhile.

** Must have a clean driving record



Jobs duties include but not limited to :



Winter :

Feeding cows

laying out hay that will be fed the next day

chopping ice

shop jobs (welding, cleaning, vehicle maintenance)

Starting colts



Spring:

Calving cows and heifers (cold weather calving experience is a must, along with calving heifers)

Tagging

Pairing out

Riding through pairs

Possibility of riding green horses if we feel you are capable

Branding (snag and drag)

Fencing lower country and working our way to mountain country



Spring/Summer:

Moving cows closer to summer mountain pastures

Fencing (we have lots of mountain fence that is hammered by elk so we spend lots of time fixing fence)

Put out salt/mineral

Property maintenance (weed eating, mowing)

Overall ranch maintenance ( vehicles, corrals, fences)

Irrigating (gated pipe, flood, and center pivots)

Farming (cutting, raking, baling, and hauling hay off fields)



Fall:

Moving cows off mountain

Weaning

Shipping

Preg checking

Fall projects

Prep for winter



Housing- 1 two bedroom/ 1 bath house will accommodate small family

1 single bedroom/single bath house, would be best for a single person or a couple without children

Work truck provided

Ranch horses provided

Allowed 1 to 2 personal horses.

Beef provided after 1 year of work.
