Description:
Yukon is a mature 5 year old draft cross gelding standing 15 hands high. He’s absolutely gorgeous and gets compliments everywhere he goes. He has a solid resume on the ranch, in the arena, and as a trail horse. Yukon can do a bit of everything, all while keeping his rider safe and happy! He’s the perfect age; he’s done and seen it just about everything, and has his whole life ahead of him. Yukon has been the go to, first string man on the ranch, single man doctoring, sorting, gathering, you name it. Even on chilly mornings before sunrise, Yukon has always saddled up quiet and ready to work. In the arena, Yukon is straightforward and simple. He has three comfortable and easy to sit gaits. He is a good mix of whoa and go; being steady, without being a dead head. If you ask him to go, he’ll go. And if you ask him to slow it down, he’s happy to poke along. Yukon will lope circles on a loose rein, or really bridle up when asked. He picks up both leads easily, and is adjustable in all of his gaits. He is happy to trot around over cross rails or small logs. On the trails, Yukon is a master. If there’s not a trail in thick brush he will barrel right through it and make one for you if you ask him too. He would be an excellent mountain horse. He crosses all obstacles, never ever shies from water or thinks twice before going in if asked, is safe in traffic and in town, and will happily trail ride off anywhere you take him. Yukon is very used to loading up and going to new places. He is a perfect gentleman on the trailer and is easy to load and travel with. He is used to livestock, dogs, atv’s, bikes, and more. He’s been there, done that, type of guy! We have put extremely timid beginner riders on Yukon for lessons and he’s kind and forgiving. In the barn, Yukon is polite and respectful, with great ground manners. He is the type of horse that learns who his person is and really connects with them. He would love to have someone who enjoys not just riding, but bonding, with their horses. Yukon is an easy keeper who is happy living inside or out. He gets along well with his pasture mates and is overall just an easy guy to have around! Willing to keep him for up to 7 days free of charge, then $20 a day will apply.
