Description:
Pearce Ranches are seeking a ranch hand for our ranch near Roswell, NM. The ranch hand is responsible for assisting the ranch foreman with daily ranch operations and assisting with our other ranches. This ranch is cow-calf with yearlings. Compensation package includes salary (depending on experience), insurance, retirement, truck and trailer for ranch use, housing, utilities, and beef.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee 500 head of cows plus additional yearlings.

Assist with operations on our other ranches.

Neighbor with nearby ranches during spring and fall works.

Keep windmills, solar wells, and electric wells in good working order.

Maintain ranch roads.

Repair fences and mechanical equipment.

Maintain cleanliness, appearance, and organization of barns, houses, ranch vehicles, and equipment.

Operate and maintain center pivots and keep irrigated ground in working order.



REQUIREMENTS:

General ranching experience, with preference given to applicants with more than 10 years of experience.

Ability to weld and operate heavy equipment.

Skilled in horseback riding and cattle husbandry.

Physically able to work outdoors in all types of weather.

Work Monday through Saturday and on Sunday, if necessary.

General knowledge of center pivots and farming is preferred but not required.
