Description:
If you need one that is guaranteed to be old man gentle and broke to do every job on the ranch, then take a look at Gin. He is currently being ridden and used by a 74 year old man, and he is about as honest and broke as they come. Gin is a good looking 9 year old blood bay gelding, 15hh and 1300 pounds, and extremely athletic and quick footed. He has been used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, including dragging calves, doctoring cattle out in the pasture, and sorting pairs. He has headed and heeled five and six weights this spring and will pull anything you can get a rope around. Gin has been ridden the right way and is one hand broke with an excellent handle, a light mouth, and a very smooth trot you could sit to all day long. He has been taught to move out and cover some ground, and has plenty of speed if you ask him for it. He’s been there, done that and not spooked or bothered by anything, and is very friendly. You can saddle him up on a cold morning and hop on knowing you will not get bucked off. Gin is good on both leads, will do flying lead changes, sidepass, spin around and work a gate. He is an excellent trail horse as well and will fit a lot of people as he is kind and willing. He will cross water with no problems, go through tall brush, and is very sure footed. Gin has excellent ground manners, is easy to catch, good for the shoer, stands quietly tied, and loads and hauls well. He will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
