Position Overview: Ranch Infrastructure Specialist Position Responsibilities • Maintain and develop water projects, including springs, stock wells, and pipelines. • Oversee the upkeep of corrals, shipping facilities, and livestock feeding areas. • Maintain roads, clean and install culverts, and manage roadside trees and shrubs through mastication. • Maintain private land fences, including installing corners, gates, new fences, and performing general fence maintenance. • Maintain irrigation infrastructure, such as headgates, ditches, and pump stations. Necessary Key Skills • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, particularly when collaborating on projects with agencies such as NRCS and USFS. While this position primarily works independently, teamwork will be required for certain ranch tasks. • Organization: The ability to plan and execute projects efficiently is crucial. This includes preparing project plans, submitting cost estimates to management, and ensuring completion within budget and on schedule. • Equipment Operation: Daily operation of equipment is expected. Proficiency with dozers, excavators, skid steers, and general ranch equipment such as tractors and swathers is necessary. • Hand Tools: Basic knowledge of using a cutting torch, stick welder, and chainsaw is required. Knowledge of Transits, levels and other measurement tools are a must. Other Ranch Information • The use of illegal drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited. Alcohol is not permitted on ranch property or in ranch housing. Personal use off property is not restricted, but consumption on property is not allowed. • No smoking is permitted on ranch property. • Personal pets are welcome, with preference for well-behaved dogs that remain outside. Cats are allowed. The presence of pigs is negotiable outside we like to keep our housing and ranch vehicles clean and well kept. Married Couples or Single Folks encouraged to apply Non married couples will not be allowed in Ranch Housing.
