Rhett is a beautiful 14.3 hand 7yr old AQHA gelding that is broke to cut, head, heel and has been used on the ranch. He is sired by one of the top cutting sires in the world, Cats Merada and out of a money earning mare by Peptoboonsmal. This gelding is athletic, cowy, gentle and broke! He has been hauled 1000s of miles as a turnback horse and I think he would make an outstanding ranch sorter and would have the mind to handle the pressure. Rhett has been used on the ranch to gather, sort, and drag calves to the fire and has the stamina to handle the long days; he won’t play out! My client purchased this horse this spring, he is extremely nice, and we enjoy using him but he’s just a little too much horse for them. Rhett has been team roped on both ends, we don’t team rope, so we had a friend evaluate him for us and took some video. We feel he’s best suited on the heel side and with just a little more time and some finishing touches he would make an outstanding heel horse. He is extremely good in the box, leaves off your hand and has a ton of run and rate. You can rope off this horses all night and he won’t get hot or silly. He has never offered to buck and is a safe honest ride. Rhett has pulled back a few times and he hasn’t been great to shoe, he’s not mean about it but he just won’t stand great. We are happy to discuss this more with interested parties. Someone looking for a performance horse or a working ranch horse is really going to love this guy! He has straight legs, good feet, and is sound and healthy. Vet checks welcome. He good to catch, load, saddle and bridle. Come try him out in Buffalo WY 406-671-1884.
