Description:
If you want a horse that will turn heads, this is it! You won’t find one much prettier, and even at just 5 years old he is gentle for just about anyone. Valor is a gorgeous 16.2 hh Percheron/Fresian gelding weighing close to 1700 pounds with a size 4 shoe. He is an absolute lovebug, with a personality as big as he is. Valor wants to be everyone’s best friend and is an absolute gentleman on the ground as well as in the saddle. He will come right up to you begging for attention if you walk into his pasture, but he is also very respectful and not pushy at all. He was bred by the Amish and was purchased at 2 years old by a man who broke him to ride and used him to pull a buggy. We do not have a buggy so we have only ridden him. Valor has been ridden both English and Western, and while he is a big boy he still fits into a regular western saddle, so no need to run out and buy a special saddle. Even with his size he is so easy to ride, with a good neck rein, easy stop, and a proper back up. Valor has the smoothest trot you could sit to all day long, but his favorite speed is slow. He will lope with encouragement but definitely prefers to walk and trot. At his size he was built for power, not for speed. 😉 He is kind and good minded and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and even if not ridden regularly he stays gentle. He would be excellent for a therapy program as he is extremely good minded and not prone to getting excited. Valor will cross water without issue, is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He is perfect for the shoer, no stocks or drugs required, and can go barefoot or with shoes. He rides just as good bareback with a halter as he does with a saddle and bridle, and has been ridden by both my 6 and 9 year old sons. Valor is easy to catch anywhere, gets along well with all other horses, and loads well. He will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Asking $10000.
