Description:
Herron Cattle is seeking a full-time Ranch Hand to join a working cattle operation located near Baker City and Durkee, Oregon. This is a hands-on, year-round position with housing provided and opportunities for ranch management responsibilities for the right candidate.

If you’re self-motivated, dependable, and take pride in quality ranch work — this is your opportunity to be part of a solid, family-run operation.

🛠️ Duties Include:

• Daily care of cow/calf pairs and heifers

• Calving, doctoring, feeding, and seasonal herd work

• Cutting, baling, and stacking hay

• Operating and maintaining tractors, haying, and ranch equipment

• Fence repair, water systems, and general maintenance

• Riding and moving cattle – strong horsemanship required

• Participation in ranch management decisions and responsibilities

✅ Ideal Candidate:

• Experienced with cattle and calving

• Good horseman – able to work cattle horseback when needed

• Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team

• Skilled with tractors, implements, and basic mechanics

• Professional, trustworthy, and drug-free

• Has a valid driver’s license

• Willing to provide references

📍 Location & Compensation:

• Ranch located between Baker City and Durkee, OR

• On-site housing provided

• Wage DOE (based on experience and skills)

• Opportunity for long-term growth in the operation
