Description:
This is by far one of the most honest horses we have ever owned, as gentle, kind and broke as they come. Nasa is a 13 year old mare who has spent most of her life working on the ranch, roping and dragging calves, and toting around the kiddos. We have owned her for nearly 2 years, and she has been the perfect step up horse for my son, who started riding her when he was 8. Nasa is the perfect size at 14.3hh, not too high off the ground but stout enough to pack an adult. She is the type of horse you can turn out for months and then saddle up and hop on without warming up and without worrying that she will do something stupid. Nasa has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off, won’t run you under a tree or rub you off on a fence, and is very good minded and forgiving. I don’t have to warm her up before throwing my son up on her, and she has always taken care of him. Nasa has an excellent handle, a good stop, is good on both leads, and will work a gate. She travels out well and can keep up with the big horses out in the pasture. She is very responsive and will walk quietly all day long, but if you ask her to move out she is quick and has a ton of speed. Nasa rides well out in the pasture or in the arena, and while she knows the playday events she does not enjoy doing them. She is a finished heel horse but we have not roped off of her, just used her as a ranch horse and trail horse. She rides just as good bareback with a halter as she does with a saddle and bridle, and doesn’t mind carrying a flag. Nasa rides in a bit as well but we prefer to ride her in a hackamore or bitless bridle. She will go up, over or through anything you point her at, crosses water with no problems, and we haven’t found anything that spooks her or scares her. She has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, and the kids can crawl all around her and she will not ever take a step. Nasa is not mare-ish at all, and can be turned out with other mares or geldings without an issue. She will ride out alone or with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. The only thing I can pick on her for is that she can be hard to catch in a big pasture. Asking $7500. Call Wendy for more information at 210-363-1883. Serious inquiries only, no tire kickers!
