Description of Operation:

Spires Ranch is 55,000 acres located near Snyder Texas. It is an angus cow/calf and quarter horse operation. The ranch is comprised of three contiguous camps. The foreman would occupy and care for the Hdqt camp and be responsible for the oversight of the entire ranch. Spires Land & Cattle is an AQHA Legacy breeder and currently has 26 broodmares and three studs. Ranch equipment consists of dozer, excavator, road grader, tractor, welder, ATV, cattle sprayer, etc. We are seeking a ranch foreman with experience in similar size operation. Working in rough brushy country is a plus.



Ranch Foreman Attributes:

• Provide value to ownership in accomplishing objectives of ranch



Ranch Foreman Duties:

• Stockmanship & Horsemanship – handling to maintain gentle cattle

• Project management & oversight

• Facilities & equipment maintenance and repair

• Maintain water lines, troughs, windmills, solar & submersible pumps

• Breeding program management

• Capable of body condition scoring (BCS)

• Determining supplemental feed requirements

• Livestock inventory reports

• Grazing management & knowledge of grasses

• Heifer development & calving

• Heavy equipment operation & knowledge

• Collaborating on yearly brush control projects

• Computer literacy – Excel, Word and mapping software



Compensation:

• Salary BOE

• Housing provided

• Paid vacation

• 2 personal horses allowed

• Ranch truck for work only

• Beef

• Great school district with bus service
