Once again we find ourselves WITHOUT any interns heading into this fall to assist with halter breaking our 2025 foals. We started last March with hiring 5 interns for May-Aug and May-Dec and for various reasons they are no longer here. Our daughter is expecting baby #3 in November and will only be able to assist for a little longer and will stay on maternity leave until spring 2026. Without assistance to halter break we will be discounting prices to get our foals moved on to new homes. We are super proud of our 2025 foals and very proud of many of our stallions. This pricing will have them vaccinated, boostered, dewormed, handled 2 times (maybe more), weaned and eating well for 2 weeks before travel. Our standard 10% discount for multiple or repeat buyers will still stand. You may find these foals in their own albums on Facebook and our website. Our most recent pictures are already on our website, Facebook and RWAs. We will provide additional videos of the stallion groups as a whole upon request. Jacks Our Bartender has been declining, and we will soon be preg checking his mares that pastured with him this summer. Could be that these 2025s are his last offspring. His bloodline will remain in our program through his daughters and a 2024 stallion prospect we have retained. This guy has the genes to make an athletic horse no matter what direction he goes. Born 5-12-25. Some years we do a fun theme for names. This year we have chosen movie themes for our different stallions. Top Gun Whiskey foals will be named after the Top Gun Call Signs from the original 1986 movie. Next year we will do similar call signs from the 2022 movie. Our other stallions will have Lord Of The Rings and Hobbit themed names. This colt is named Boromir (bor0-meer). Boromir is a proud and mighty warrior, the eldest son and heir to Denethor, the Steward of Gondor. He is a member of the Fellowship of the Ring. ‘Boromir’ is a bay roan stallion with no white on him and already showing his roan. He has a chance of being homozygous for roan and will be tested. His dam, Paddys Gin Llano JW aka Llano pronounced L-A-N-O is a mare we raised out of another Grantier Quarter Horse program mare Dry Biscuit Mujer JW aka Biscuit. Biscuit is multiple generations of Grantier’s breeding program. On her damside, Kingsburys Buck was often referred to as Larry Grantier’s best mare at that time. Maternal grandsire is Mujer Tacky Jay who sired too many ranch, family, 4-H, performance horses to count in his breeding career. The Zans Banjoe lines are also cornerstone in their program. Last but not least is her sire Dry Pages who as a 1995 stallion has also sired more than his share of excellent using horses. We are very proud to have this Dry Pages daughter in our program. She is still producing for us and her foals are quickly becoming some of the first ones to sell. Llano is by our original Paddy’s stallion, TRR Paddys Texas Gin. Tex puts very thick and muscular foals on the ground with very nice muscle expression on them as well as a lot of athleticism and as they develop, they have a lot of vigor. The oldest ones have been started under saddle by various buyers and we are hearing good things from all of them. The Paddys Irish Whiskey horses are making a name for themselves in everything from cutting to cowhorse events to roping horses and are very versatile—Tanquery Gin, Doc O’Lena, Docs Starlight, Poco Tivio, Peppy San Badger. Llano’s first foal, Magnetar Drift JW is a keeper for us for now. Boromir’s sire is Jacks Our Bartender. Jacks Our Bartender is a son of Bartenders Memory by Two ID Bartender and out of a granddaughter of Two Eyed Jack, Watch Miss Jo Jackie, born in 2003. Unfortunately, due to a stifle injury from being kicked by a mare, Jack was not able to stay sound enough to enter the show ring but was able to prove his athletic ability. Since then several of his colts have ended up in the roping arena and continue to prove their athleticism and great minds. By 2015 Hockenson’s realized that he was producing some really great roping horses and decided to see if they could keep his stifle sound enough to show and sure enough in a very short time, he quickly earned 5.5 AQHA Heading Points of his own proving that his offspring accomplishments were not by chance. He is a great horse to be around and out produces himself every time. Jack has 3 AQHA performing offspring. Many of his other foals have gone on to be great rodeo horses or rope horses competing and earning money in different associations. We bought Jack with one idea to be to put him on our Paddys Irish Whiskey daughters and granddaughters. He has the moves that they do but in a bigger horse package. Boromir is a very nicely bred foal. We would expect Boromir to make an excellent ranch horse or possible rope horse prospect with an excellent disposition. This family of horses does not disappoint. Boromir’s dam is a GBED carrier, so he will be tested. Foal is eligible for the Iowa Quarter Horse Association Ranch Horse Futurity. 2025 PRICING INCLUDES: Halter/lead rope, negative coggins, health, brand inspection, initial and booster vaccinations of EWT-Flu-Rhino, 1 bag of his current feed, AQHA transfer fee paid and halter training.
