We are allowing individuals to still intern with us now-December 12th if your schedule allows you to*** Warren and Jodie Woroniecki Ranch with Woroniecki Ranch Quarter Horses is now accepting applications for a Beef Cattle and Quarter Horse Ranch Management Internship. This internship will begin in August and will ideally go until December 12th 2025 allowing you plenty of time before Christmas. Can stay longer if you have availability. Woroniecki Ranch owns and operates a commercial cow/calf operation, as well as a herd of registered horned Herefords. Most calving takes place out on the rangeland, not in the barn. Woroniecki Ranch Quarter Horses breeds, raises, and markets American Quarter Horses. We are expecting 30 foals to be born this spring. We live cover all our mares by our stallions on the rangeland during the summer. Warren and Jodie also own and operate Prairie Nutrition Center, Inc. PNC, Inc. is a livestock ration balancing, nutrition consulting and mineral/feed company. The intern will learn some of this business as well but will not be active in this daily. Warren is a beef animal nutritionist and will teach all he knows about animal nutrition and how proper nutrition is vital to the success of any ranch operation. As an intern with Woroniecki Ranch you will have an excellent opportunity to receive hands-on training in ranch management. This internship allows you to explore the cattle and horse industries and learn how all sides of our business operates. You will learn many vital skills during this internship that will put you ahead for further success in your future endeavors. Location Woroniecki Ranch is located 11 miles northeast of Hebron, North Dakota. The intern’s housing will be provided in the town of Hebron. The road to the ranch is all gravel. Hebron’s population is about 800 people and has basic businesses such as a grocery store, convenience store, mechanic, and several restaurants. The nearest Walmart is 35 miles away in Dickinson. The town of Bismarck is 60 miles away with a population of 80,000 and an airport. Requirements We are looking for an individual pursuing a degree in Animal Science, Equine Science, General Agriculture or related studies. The candidate must have completed at least their sophomore year of school. Applicant must be currently attending school or a recent Dec 2024 or May 2025 graduate. Average cattle husbandry knowledge and be able to utilize low impact cattle handling. Applicant must be highly motivated and willing to work. Must have an open mind with a teamwork attitude and realize all tasks you are given are equally important to the operation. Horse Experience is required. All cattle work is done from horseback, we are not an ATV operation. You must be proficient at riding horse. You must be interested and willing to help halter break foals. • Intern must have their own vehicle to drive to work, capable of all weather and road conditions. • Intern must have personal liability and renter’s insurance by the start date of internship. • Intern must have valid driver’s license. • Intern must have proof of health insurance. • Intern must be tobacco free. Compensation $850 / month stipend. The noon meal will be provided every day of work. Housing is provided including all utilities and Wi-Fi. A bonus of $1750 will be given if you stay until December 12th, 2025. Internship Duties • The ability to stretch, bend, lift 50 lbs, and work all day in all weather conditions. • Daily chores feeding hay, water, and grain to both cattle and horses. • Assist with calving, tagging calves, cattle working, doctoring cattle, weaning calves in the fall. • Assist with synchronizing cows for embryo transfer/artificial insemination. • Handle stallions, mares, foals, etc. • Vaccinating and deworming horses. • Help haul and move mares to and from the ranch yard and pastures. • Halter breaking and weaning foals will be a primary job task starting in August. • Rotating cattle through pastures on horseback. • Checking pasture water tanks and making sure mineral feeders are filled. • Assist with fence building and repair, corral repair, manure cleaning, barn/stall cleaning. • Operation maintenance such as grass mowing, weed control, painting, etc. • Helping put up hay may be an occasional task. **Duties/Activities/Experiences may change from year to year** Interns are expected to work the same hours we do, which varies day to day. Expect to normally work 10-12 hours every day. With some days being up to 15 hours. Interns will be given 1 day off a week minimum. Additional personal days can be given as a situation arises. We will give 3 extra days off at Thanksgiving.
