Description:
ABOUT THE JOB:

Sunrise Mountain Ranch is looking for an intelligent, motivated, hardworking crew member to fill a full-time ranch and land restoration position. The Ranch Hand will work closely under the guidance and supervision of the on-site ranch managers and alongside other ranch employees.

SMR will provide on-site transportation, tools, equipment while on the job. We prefer that the employee lives on site in provided housing, but it is not required. If living offsite, crew members will provide their own transportation to and from SMR.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with ranch duties to include irrigation, haying, fencing, equipment and tractor operation, cattle work, calving, and doctoring of cattle.

• Aid with land restoration projects to include eradicating nonnative plants, native plant restoration, assisting with general ranch maintenance, implementing project monitoring, and other tasks.



REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Farm and ranch experience is preferred.

• Ecological restoration, construction, heavy equipment operation experience is a plus

• Ability to take direction from ranch staff, work as part of the team, use hand tools, carry field gear, and work in all types of weather conditions.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to climb ladders.

• Physical capability to perform all core functions of the position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the core functions of the job.

• Ability to complete and pass a background check and motor vehicle checks (clean driving record) as part of the hiring process.

• Authorized to work in the United States



We prefer that the employee lives on site in provided housing, but it is not required.
