Description:
Praying for a neat, tidy, and proactive cowboy for long-term employment on our 134-acre working cattle ranch in the beautiful North Texas Hill Country, just 5 miles from the Red River and 2 miles from Lake Nocona.

Ideal candidate is a retired couple or single man with strong ranching skills, a keen eye for improvements, and the initiative to implement them as needed.

Bring your own RV with full hookups (water, sewer, electricity) and Starlink internet provided. Or stay in town in our 3/1 house.

Bring your horse and gear—free board in our open barn with stalls, corral, working pens, round pen, and tack room.

**Responsibilities:**

- Manage F1 Wagyu herd: steer bull calves (we load and transport to vet), apply ear tags, sort and sell heifer calves, oversee weaning, haul to sale barn, identify health issues, round up, sort, get cattle into head gate, and doctor on-site if needed.

- Maintain 134 acres of pastures: cut, spray weeds (identify and avoid spreading noxious weeds), and repair/maintain fences.

- Operate and maintain tractor (box blade, hay forks, greasing, oil changes).

- General maintenance: mow yard, weed eat around house, barn, and outbuildings.

- Manage ranch dog house: monitor food bin, clean dog run, and keep weed-eated.

- Maintain chicken coops: provide fresh bedding, food, water, and gather eggs.

- Keep ranch truck maintained and make feed store runs to keep cubes filled.

- Proactively identify and implement improvements to enhance ranch operations.

- Perform general handyman tasks: welding, masonry, painting, and basic carpentry (welding and building skills a huge plus).

- May bring one ranch dog (Border Collie/Aussie types preferred; no pits, pit mixes, or aggressive breeds). Dog must get along with our dogs and will be on a trial basis.

**Requirements:**

- Experienced cowboy with expertise in cattle management, including health issue identification and on-site treatment.

- Skilled in tractor maintenance, fence repairs, and general ranch upkeep.

- Neat, tidy, and self-motivated with a proactive approach to making improvements.

- Able to manage 134 acres effectively.

- General handyman skills, including welding, masonry, painting, and carpentry, highly preferred.

- No drugs or heavy drinking.
