Description:
The kind you don’t forget.

Tug is sharp, steady, and broke, with a handle that makes you want to stay in the saddle a little longer. He’s just as classy under a ranch saddle as he is in the show pen. Whether you’re shipping calves, stepping into the arena, or letting your novice niece take a turn, Tug meets the moment.

By NRBC Open Derby Champion Einsteins Revolution—an NRHA $2 Million Dollar Sire with $354,000+ in earnings, 46 AQHA reining points, and a reputation as one of the greatest stopping horses in the industry—Tug carries a pedigree that performs. His dam, Aledo Boom 2001, is by Boomernic and out of a Too Much Pepper mare. She earned over $10,000 in the show pen, finished 18th in the 2006 NRBC Non-Pro Derby, and went through Clinton Anderson’s program before producing six AQHA point-earning foals. That kind of breeding shows up every time you swing a leg over.

Tug’s got the kind of handle you’d expect from one with a reining background, but he’s got the mind and the miles to match. He’s been out on real rides, not just circles in the sand. Lead departures, turnarounds, stops, sidepasses—he’s solid in every one of them, and they hold up outside the arena too.

And he’s not just trained—he’s intuitive. His biggest strength under saddle is his attentiveness. He doesn’t just go through the motions. He tunes in to his rider, waits for the next ask, and gives an honest try every time.

Tug is a quality mover with forward cadence, balance, and presence. He transitions smoothly, stays level, and carries himself correct. He’s got the kind of style judges are looking for and is sure to turn heads when he walks in. If you’re after a gelding ready to step into ranch riding or VRH, Tug has everything it takes. He would be a perfect fit for a non-pro or amateur rider, whether it’s a youth getting started in the show pen or an older rider who wants to enjoy a good one.

Tug has been used. We’ve hauled him across the country, gathered cattle, sorted pairs, loaded trucks and covered plenty of rough ground. He’s crossed rivers, climbed out of draws, and picked through brush and rock without missing a step. He rides out alone, stays quiet in a group, and doesn’t wear out after a full day. At 14.1 hands, he’s built right and balanced, and he rides bigger than he measures. He’s careful but committed. Water, hills, traffic, bridges—he handles it all with confidence. Trail obstacles don’t faze him. Sidepassing, backing through tight spaces, working gates—he handles new setups like they’re familiar. I’ve even ridden him down the trail next to a train. If you want one that’s been out, done a job, and could walk into a ranch trail class without blinking, Tug’s the one.

Some of my favorite memories with Tug have nothing to do with arena work. We took him on a family vacation and gave ride after ride to little ones who had never even been around a horse. He stood quietly, lowered his head for every carrot and nose pet, and babysat like it was his job. We’ve even taken him to Buc-ee’s for the fun of it. After a young boy gave him a scratch, I rode him right up onto the sidewalk and around the giant beaver statue. He doesn’t just tolerate new experiences, he enjoys them.

He loads, hauls, bathes, and stands for the farrier. He lives well outside, and stalls just fine. No special maintenance, no funny business, no guesswork. Tug is sound and correct. Easy keeper, up to date on all care, including dental on 5/29. Records available upon request.

Tug brings something different to the barn. He makes it easy to say yes to the ride, trust what’s under you, and enjoy the time in between. You don’t just use horses like this, you remember them.

Classy. Consistent. Ready.

And they don’t come around like him very often.

Tug is located in Amarillo, Texas. Transport is available. We’d love for you to come visit him or reach out to see if Tug is the match you’ve been looking for.
