Lariat was started and trained by the best in the business when he was two and a half years old and has graduated the natural horsemanship program where he learned several tricks (side passing to a mounting block, laying down for mounting and setting on his rump) doing the natural horsemanship program also allowed Lariat’s personality to shine as he is a total in your pocket kind of fellow and is everyone’s best friend! He is 4 years old, is 15.1h and is well built. Lariat is a mule for all jobs… he is out of a Color Me Smart ($3.6 million sire) bred mare, so he is bred to ride around the ranch and knows cows! Whether you need to head out on the ranch and herd some cattle, need to heel calves and drag them to the branding fire, if you just want to ride some beginner type trails, if you want to go hunting up in the high country of Wyoming or Colorado and tackle the roughest of all trails, if you want to hook up and take a Sunday afternoon carriage ride, maybe you just want a friend to lay down under a shade tree and talk to… Lariat will do it all!!! He is super safe, absolutely no foolishness or bad habits. He is easy with feet and ears. Lariat has been ridden by all ages from 6 to 76 and is 100% safe. On the trails he is great and will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough, rocky areas. He has been ridden many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trails. He has been on several week long camping trips. He has been elk hunting out west and also has been packed. He hauls well and picket line ties and ponies. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. Lariat has been ridden at night, lead dogs and been coon hunted off of, gun fire does not bother him. Lariat is fancy broke and well trained! He will one hand rein around, spin circles, side pass and back with ease. He will lope perfect circles and slide stops! He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey and will go anywhere that he is asked too.
