I’ve hauled him to every big cuttin in Texas and Oklahoma and used him as my turn back horse. Our youngest son uses him at home on the ranch and in the arena, and Skeet is his favorite to brand calves on. If you aren’t very experienced, this is the kind of horse you can learn to be a cowboy on. He is super smart about a cow and proves his worth as a turn back horse in the cutting pen. He’s assisted several horses to win gold buckles in the NCHA with how good he is. Skeet is a gentle horse that has seen a lot of miles and been hauled to jackpot team ropings as well and is good to head and heel on. He has that big wide legged million dollar stop that will stop a cow. He scores like a rock and doesn’t duck out and has a lot of speed and rate. He can be ridden in any kind of bridle and has as very good neck rein which is not only enjoyable but necessary for the little kids as they learn to ride. He is very suitable for good horsemen to accomplish a hard task and solid enough for all levels of riders. He is a rare and kind soul. Skeet has no blemishes on him, he’s never been injected and has always been sound. He’s a complete gentleman to shoe. He isn’t herd bound, barn sour or lovesick for other horses. He stands quietly when tied and doesn’t paw or whinny when he’s tied all day. We have a pretty good-sized ranch here in Texas and he has covered every inch of it so many times. When we need to doctor a calf or get a wild cow in or rope and snub a broncy colt, Skeet gets the call. He’s just such a dependable animal. He stands 15 hands tall, pulls a deep cinch and will weigh 1200 pounds. He’s got the pedigree of world class cutting horses and the obedience that your grandfather would approve of.
