I am seeking a ranch manager, foreman, or ranch-hand position on a cow/calf operation in Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, or North Dakota open to look at anywhere else possibly. I am looking for a long-term new job opportunity in a well-rounded cow/calf operation ideally, I would like to work in a place that values both hard work and a good work-life balance. I thrive in environments where humor and camaraderie are present, but where getting the job done correctly and efficiently is the priority. Communication is key, and I would like to work with a team where both owners and hired hands collaborate well and keep each other informed. A ranch that takes pride in improving its cattle herd and facilities is important to me, as I am committed to growth and continual improvement. I prefer horseback for cattle work, but I am not seeking a cowboy-ridden job I am open to using whatever tool—whether horses, ATVs, or pickups—is most efficient for the task at hand but with low-stress cattle handling. My Experience Includes: • Cow/Calf Operation: I have overseen herds ranging from 600 to 1400 head of cows, including 200 to 400 first-calf heifers. Responsibilities include calving, night checks, grafting calves, tagging, assisting cows/heifers calving problems and branding, giving vaccine shots, castration, preconditioning processing calves, weaning calves, hauling cattle, sorting cattle, working cattle. • Health Monitoring and Vet Care: I have extensive experience identifying and doctoring sick or lame cattle, using a dart gun or working on horseback, and keeping detailed records of health treatments. • Herd Management: I rotated cattle groups, maintained pasture health, selecting replacement heifers, bull selection, culling cows and bulls, graving management ensured adequate water and mineral availability. • Winter Care: I manage feeding with bale processors and with hydra bed, I used a cake feeder also have used a feed wagon making feed ration and monitoring bunks, grinding hay. • Fencing: I have experience building and maintaining fences across all types of terrain, including barbed wire, electric, and corrals. • Haying and Equipment Operation: I have operated a variety of hay equipment since I was very young, including swathers, rakes, balers, and bale haulers, in both dryland and irrigated and wet meadows conditions. • Mechanical Maintenance: I am comfortable performing general maintenance, including oil changes, filters, and minor mechanical repairs. While I am not a mechanic, I am skilled at fixing smaller issues, and I can handle light welding repairs. and knowledge of windmills, solar and generator wells.
