If you are looking for a safe, gentle horse to ride on trails or throw out at the ranch for guests, then take a look at Cajun. He is a sweet 17 year old brown gelding, 15.1 hh, and gentle for just about anyone who can hold the reins. Cajun has been ridden all over Texas on large multi-day trail rides, and has seen a lot of different country. He rides just as good away from home as he does at home, and he is the same horse every time you ride him. Cajun has excellent ground manners and is very easy to catch, and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. He travels out well in the pasture, will cross water with no problems, and isn’t spooky. Cajun prefers to be on the slower side, mainly walking and trotting, although he will lope if really pushed. He would make an excellent camp horse or dude string horse. He will cross water, ride along the road, and will go through tall brush without any issues. Cajun stands quietly tied, is good for the shoer, and loads and hauls well. He will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Cajun needs to gain a little weight, but he has been wormed and had his teeth floated and is steadily gaining. He has some arthritis in his right hock, and will get sore if ridden hard, but is plenty capable of doing trails. Asking $1500.
