Description:
The Beaver Slide Ranch outside of Miles City, MT is looking for a full-time, experienced, and mature ranch hand to join our eastern Montana cattle ranch team (between Broadus and Miles City, MT). We offer a competitive compensation package including housing, utilities (electricity and propane), and beef.

Work includes caring for cattle, calving heifers, some haying, and other ranch tasks. Our most successful employees are self-motivated, work well as part of a team, appreciate the outdoors and hard work.

Though some work may be performed horseback, this isn’t a “horse” job. Our successful applicant will be calving; branding, feeding, and moving cattle; fencing; checking water; weed spraying; haying; doing simple mechanics; and related tasks. We primarily use pickups, four-wheelers, or dirt bikes for work.

Applicants with families will appreciate the small rural school only minutes from the ranch.



Job Responsibilities:

Calving, doctoring, feeding, and other cattle operations.

Build and maintain fence.

Operate and maintain equipment (pickups, four-wheelers, tractors, and related equipment).

Check wells and water and maintain pipelines and other water systems.

Weed spraying.

Welding (not a requirement, but beneficial).

Operate hay harvesting and feeding equipment.

Other ranch tasks as necessary or assigned.



Employment Requirements:

Experience calving heifers.

Understanding of low stress cattle handling and a desire to implement BQA best practices.

Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.

Good work ethic.
