Our ranch, located on the scenic Oregon-Nevada border in McDermitt, NV, is a fifth-generation family-owned business with a 1200 Black Angus cow-calf operation. We are committed to maintaining our tradition of hard work, dedication, and excellence in ranching. *Position Overview* As a potential candidate, you will be expected to: Cowboy Year-Round: Engage in cattle work throughout the year on both BLM and private lands. •Horse Skills: Ideally, you should have your own horses, but we provide ranch horses as well. The ability to shoe your own horse is a plus, though we can teach this skill if necessary. •Land Navigation: Possess a strong understanding of the land and remember its layout for efficient operations. •Opportunities and Expectations Commitment to Long-Term Growth: We value employees who are willing to commit to long-term positions. Such dedication not only benefits the ranch but also provides opportunities for the employee to run their own cattle in the future. •Learning and Growth: Our manager/owner and his son are integral to our operation and are eager to share their knowledge with individuals who demonstrate respect and a willingness to learn. •Farming Skills: Experience with operating farming equipment is advantageous. However, we are open to teaching individuals who show a willingness to learn. •Housing and Compensation: We offer a three-bedroom house with all amenities, including washer and dryer, dishwasher, air conditioning and a fireplace, to make your stay comfortable. Salary is based on experience. Employees are paid on the 1st and 15th each month. A $500 (one time) bonus if you are able to start before May 1st.
