Due to ongoing changes, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual for a management position, with a focus on day-to-day operations and the well-being of our herd. Confidentiality Notice: At this time, we are exploring new leadership for this role and wish to respect the privacy of our current team. Therefore, we are keeping this search, as well as our ranch name anonymous. We aim to find a candidate who will seamlessly integrate into our operation while ensuring the continued success and integrity of the farm. Position Overview: The ideal candidate will be hands-on, present, and actively involved in all aspects of ranch management, with a focus on maintaining a quality hunting experience for our clients. This position is key to ensuring the health of our herd and the smooth operation of the ranch. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the day-to-day management of the ranch, including but not limited to animal care, breeding, and fawning. • Administer annual vaccinations, doctoring, and disease control processes, including the safe handling of animals through the chute. • Manage the breeding program with a focus on genetics and herd health. • Maintain high standards of low-stress handling techniques to ensure the well-being of the deer at all times. • Work with the team to ensure smooth operations during hunting season (August through January) and off-season (September-December) when ranch upkeep and animal husbandry take priority. Qualifications: • A degree in Wildlife Management, Biology, or a related field is preferred but not required. • Extensive knowledge of whitetail deer, including annual care, genetics, and breeding practices. • Experience in turkey management is a plus. • Ability to handle and care for animals with a strong emphasis on minimizing stress during daily routines and medical treatments. • Familiarity with the fawning processes and the care of newborn deer. • Experience operating heavy equipment, including skid steers, tractors, and various attachments. Compensation & Benefits: • Salary DOE. • Housing arrangements can be made based on candidate’s needs. • Company-provided truck, with all maintenance, fuel, and insurance covered. • Monday to Friday work schedule, with weekends required during hunting and turkey seasons as needed.
