Our team operates with shared values of safety, integrity, commitment, good stockmanship, being a good neighbor, and environmental stewardship. We seek a talented and motivated person to oversee meal planning and preparation while contributing to the overall ranch experience and promotion of LJR beef. Position Summary The Head Cook & Camp Chef is responsible for planning and executing high-quality, Western-style meals for guests, crew, and outfitting operations as well as helping plan and execute food service for special events and farmers markets on a full time, year round basis. This role ensures a top-tier food experience while maintaining efficiency, organization, and flexibility to support broader ranch operations as needed. Much of the job will be carried out by yourself, and some parts will be carried out by team members that are prepped and organized by yourself. Key Responsibilities: -Food & Meal Preparation -Help promote Little Jennie Ranch Beef through meal planning, marketing, and guest experiences. -Use creativity to develop menus that maximize the use of ranch-raised beef while efficiently managing inventory. -The ideal candidate enjoys grilling, BBQ, and really general excitement for promoting beef (Don’t worry we do eat chicken and pork around here too!) -The best fit is excited about the challenge of planning amazing meals in the backcountry, ensuring guests have a memorable and satisfying dining experience even in remote locations. -Develop and maintain standardized menus for multi-day trips, with the ability to accommodate dietary needs. -Promote and incorporate Little Jennie Ranch Beef into meal planning. -Manage ordering, inventory, and food storage from Sysco, Sam’s Club, Costco, and other suppliers. -Maintain well-stocked food supplies to align with the ranch’s schedule. -Grill and serve burgers while representing LJR Beef at farmers’ markets. -Prepare weekly ranch crew meals to foster a team-oriented atmosphere. Ranch & Outfitting Support: We all wear several hats! -Assist in camp and trail preparation. Support guest experience as necessary -Assist in guiding day rides, overnight trips, and general chores for trips when necessary -Perform camp chores and pre/post-trip food preparation. -Participate with the whole team at farmers markets, representing what we do with our beef and outfitting operation -Help advise on our direct beef operation Qualifications & Skills -Experience in professional cooking, catering, or food service (preferably in a ranch or outdoor setting). -Ability to manage food supply logistics and meal planning. -Knowledge of Western-style cooking and an appreciation for ranch traditions. -Strong organizational skills and adaptability to a dynamic work environment including ability to work with google docs, google calendar, microsoft office, etc -Willingness to assist in broader ranch operations beyond food preparation. -Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset.
