Description:
My name is Alex Horne, I’m 30 years old, married with no kids, looking for a long-term ranch hand/foreman position. My wife and I have lived seasonal ranch lives for many years, and we’re looking to settle in somewhere for a good while.



Prefer to stay in Colorado or Wyoming; would consider Montana, Idaho, or the Great Basin for the right deal. Prefer cattle work, but would consider a horse ranch. As well, would be interested in a hunting/guiding program.



I am experienced in all aspects of ranching, but am always learning.



Flood, pivot, wheel line irrigation and putting up hay. Have built/fixed more miles of fence than I can count, through all kinds of country.



I’ve got experience calving, tagging, sorting (horseback or on foot), shipping, the whole nine. I know how to read and handle cattle, spot sick cattle and doctor. I know range management and good feed. I have worked in a small feedlot.



I’ve got lots of horse experience. Ridden for all different types of trainers, all kinds of country, from western bridle horses to english to trail horses to pulling ponies, etc. I’ve packed in the wilderness, roped inside and outside, rode green horses, and everything in between, pretty much.



I’m a pretty good mechanic and have some welding experience.



I value honesty and treating people fairly. I like to approach my work with pride and integrity, thinking of the bigger scope of things--how individual tasks fit into the overall operation.



I have a young border collie who works; is very sweet and under control.
