Description:
White Butte Ranch is located near Mitchell, Oregon. We are a cow-calf operation, put up our own hay, and have a strong dedication to caring for the land. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Ranch Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or related work experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in ranch management or related field

• Strong knowledge of livestock care, pasture management, haying, irrigation, and sustainable agricultural practices

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in operating ranch equipment and machinery

• Proficient with agriculture technology, Microsoft Office, email, cell phones and texting

• Valid driver’s license

• Pass drug test

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations and management of ranch activities

• Oversee the care and management of livestock, including feeding, health monitoring, calving and pasture rotations.

• Implement and maintain pasture management, haying, irrigation, and sustainable agricultural practices

• Coordinate and supervise current ranch staff and seasonal workers

• Maintain ranch equipment and facilities, ensuring they are in good working condition

• Assist in budgeting and financial planning for ranch operations

• Management of government grants
