Description:
APHA Chiefs Riskey Magic, is a 16 year old homozygous black, homozygous tobiano dunskin stallion. That means every baby that this guy puts on the ground will be black based, and painted. No sorrel paints, no solid colors, EVER.

And he doesn’t just throw color every time, he throws those super desirable dispositions. His babies are “born broke.” They are so smart and just want to be your friend. And when they reach starting age, they are honestly a breeze. Many foals have gone on to be exceptional 4-H colt to maturity projects and I have started and sold a handful to working ranch homes and any reports I’ve gotten back, owners are all pleased with them. Many repeat buyers over the years.



Chief can pasture breed, be collected, he’s trained on the dummy but has been hand breeding the majority of his life.



He was started by Cameron Meissner with Meissner Reining Horses as a 2 year old and was in his program for a solid year plus. He had such a great foundation and to this day you could easily pull him from pasture and go show him with a little prep work. I took him to our local fair last summer and he never missed a beat. That being said, his riding career has mostly consisted of just trail riding and the occasional daywork for friends.



He got plenty of miles this last fall though, gathering for preconditioning/weaning at multiple day jobs. And it didn’t matter if I turned him out overnight because at 5 am, I could go out and holler for him and he comes running EVERY single time! If he hears the chain on the gate clanging, he races in off pasture. Chief is the kind of stud, the kind of horse in general, that you want to have around. He can be kept with geldings and can be a great babysitter for his foals at weaning. Again, he is “the kind.” Believe me when I say you want a pasture full of his babies.
