Description:
Whip is an outstanding registered quarter horse and all around ranch horse. I’ve owned him for 6 years, he’s Carried me through a lot, and I’ll be sad to see him go. This horse has an incredible work ethic and will go all day long. He lives to work and has spent countless hours at the stockyards where some days he’s been required to wait patiently all day before getting to sort cattle, and other days he’s been needed sort through bred cows/weight-up cattle all day long, rain, snow, or shine and some days, all three! He sure has made my time at the yards a great deal easier, he’s saved me countless steps, and he’s been a horse I could consistently count on for his ability to cut cattle, his willingness to go to work, and his ability to help me through gate after gate. He’s used to paddles, flags, whips and all the commotion that surrounds a livestock market. In addition to working cattle sales, Whip has been used to complete a wide variety of ranch work. He’s accustomed to the sled during calving, he’s a delight to rope and drag calves on, he’s great to travel outside on, and he will take you anywhere, even if it’s straight up a steep hill. He’s also been used in a feedlot setting to rope and doctor yearlings. This horse has a very reputable resume as a using cow horse and has seen a wide variety of work over the time I’ve owned him. He’s a cowy, good looking bay, he has good solid feet, easy to shoe, loads and unloads, crosses water, doesn’t buck, is trustworthy, and has very few holes. I call him whip because I’ve noticed at the end of the day, when he lowers his head and a guy goes to unbridle him, he’ll give a good old shake, usually "whipping" me with his long black mane if I’m not paying attention. I have recently started working for my Wife’s family on their ranch in central MT and don’t have near as much work for my horses as my previous situation. I think he’d make someone a great horse for just about anything you’d want to use him for. He’s ready for the mountains, trails, feedlot , stockyards, and I don’t think it would take much to use him in an arena setting either. Been roped off of quite a bit. He’s one of the good ones and I’d love to talk more about him if you’re interested.
