Based in Western Wyoming, our year round guest business is growing quickly alongside our working cattle ranch. We are seeking an experienced team leader who is highly organized, professional, and safety oriented. Our recreational activities include: snowmobiling, sleigh rides, and ranch tours in the Winter (Dec-April) and trail rides, overnight trips, pack trips, ride and fish trips (May-Oct) and hunting and outfitting in the Fall. Additionally, we expect the best fit to dig in all aspects of the ranch when we need to come together as a team. The best fit for this position is comfortable planning and hosting high end clients and leading a team of folks in accomplishing this work. A plus is someone who is excited about our cattle operation and wants to help promote our direct beef and cattle business alongside the guest business. Key responsibilities: Team Leadership: our manager is expected to do the necessary hiring, training, reviews, and organizing of a team of highly capable guides. We try to have a mixture of very experienced guides with creating opportunities for young folks to learn and grow here on the ranch. Organization: The guest manager is expected to coordinate and organize our booking schedule between our booking specialist and our crew. We rely on google calendar, google drive, microsoft office to run our businesses here. Our managers are expected to produce a weekly workplan and a quarterly directional plan for the season. Hands on Managing: Our managers are all considered “working managers” which to us means that we need to balance organizing and leading with getting in on the ground on our day to day work with each of our team members. We believe this allows folks to be the best leader of their team and build a great work culture. Building and Selling: The guest business’ advertising and selling is intertwined with the ranch’s marketing as a whole. We are marketing our guest business at our farmers markets, skijor race, community events, and anywhere the Little Jennie name appears. Our branding and marketing is wholistic to our operation. As such, the owners help direct sales growth of the business, but expect the guest manager to help drive where they see we have opportunities to grow. Although we have a baseline of clients and marketing to help drive business, one of the more fundamental roles of this position is to make the sales. If we don’t have clients booked in this business, there is no business. Stock and Equipment: Proper care, good stockmanship, and rock solid systems and processes allow our business to run smoothly. We expect a guest manager to properly manage our stock and equipment in an economically responsible way that keeps our team and guests safe and happy. Our horse herd is overseen as a whole by our livestock manager, but we work as a team to work with our horses and develop our remuda.
