Description:
A Pistol Annie is a 2015 Quarter Horse mare sired by Starey by Dual Rey out of an own daughter of Playboys Buck Fever. “Rory” as we call her was bred by legendary Cowan Select Horses of Montana from whom we purchased her along side her dam Freckles Final Fever. Rory has a star studded pedigree, no pun intended.

We raised her in big rough country and started her under saddle lightly as a two-year-old. From three years old and on she has been fixture on our large yearling and cow calf operation at Laramie, WY. Rory has been used for every single job on the ranch. Pairing out, tagging calves, dragging to the branding fire, doctoring all sizes of cattle on pasture, sorting in the feedlot, gathering pastures big and small, jingling horses and loading semis are just a few of the tasks on her resume.

Rory has been a steady and trustworthy mount for my wife and our children. Our youngest is 7 and has been riding her for the past 4 years. You can take her to town, the gymkhanas, the kids horse shows, whatever you choose. Nothing rattles her. She won’t look twice at a banner, flag, bicycle, stroller, loudspeaker or even a llama. She will perform to you child’s level giving everything they ask but no more.

Rory has been used extensively on mountain pack trips both as a saddle and pack horse. She has logged more miles in the mountains the next two horses combined. She rides off pleasantly in a group or alone. She is electric fence broke, stands quiet at the highline and will cross any obstacle on the trail.

Standing 15.2 and weighing in at 1350#, Rory has the size, substance and bone for a hard days work. She stands well for the farrier, loads into any trailer, is current on vaccinations and deworming and is up to date on dental care.
