Description:
"Moose" is a registered, 15 yr old big and tall gelding that has been used for all aspects of ranch work. He has good confirmation with a nice head, good withers and plenty of muscle. He has made big desert circles, been used in the sorting pen, drug hundreds of calves to the fire, packed a bedroll up to elk camp and packed me up and down steep, nasty country in the dark with no problems. He holds his flesh well, has good hard feet, loads into a trailer, is not herd bound and gets along with any companion he is turned out with. He can be turned out all winter, caught in the spring and line out with no issues.



Moose is not a kid horse and has offered to buck in certain scenarios. He is very touchy around his hind quarters and flanks, and doesn’t like moving things under his belly or around his girth. In the branding pen he needs an experienced roper. He is very flighty on the ground and requires methodical movements around his head and when saddling. He does not like being shod, especially on his hinds, and has offered to kick. I have had hind shoes on him before but it is not worth the effort. He does fine with only fronts on in rugged, rocky country. He also will pull back when tied.



This horse needs an experienced rider but would be a reliable option to have in your string for a circle horse. He is in good condition and is ready to be used. $3,500 cash preferred but open to trades for other horses, tack, hay, etc.
